How to win as a Crewmate
1. Move in groups
The best way lớn hinder an Imposter, is by staying together. If you are accompanied by other Crewmates, the Imposters can’t assassinate you … unless of course you’re unlucky enough phệ be hanging out with two imposters. The form size of the groups depends on the number of Imposters. If there are two imposters, you need a nhóm of five phệ be safe. Remember : Imposters can multi-kill if they work together. Furthermore, be prepared for sabotaging events aimed at breaking up the groups. When moving in a nhóm, try béo bởi vì your task. By doing this, you will gain your teammates ‘ trust, và they will not mistakenly believe you are the Impostor .
2. Find innocent crews
It’s not easy to find the Impostor unless you run around and witness him kill or use vent. Or even go to the Security room and check the camera. But doing these things, you will face a lot of dangers and easily be killed. It’s not interesting anymore when you are just a ghost.
My advice is to find the innocent first. There are many ways to do this but the easiest is to pay attention to people who are doing visual tasks. If someone is performing visual tasks, they are not Impostor. If you do not know what visual tasks are, you can check out Visual Tasks to know more.
Visual tasks are the most powerful evidence to put innocent people into your list. But you still need a way to expand your trust list. When there is only one Impostor, you need to notice the colors of everyone in the room as you enter. During this time, it is very likely that Impostor is trying to kill someone out there. When the body is discovered, the people in your room are less likely to be Impostor. There are still cases where Impostor kills people then enters the room before you. So if you have only been in the room for a while and then your body has been discovered, it is very difficult to conclude anything. But if you and the others have been in the room for a long time, the people in your room deserve more trust when the body is found.
What is the purpose of looking for innocent people?
a. Protect them from being kicked.
When chatting, you need to let all other members know who are innocent, and give the reason. The reason people trust the most is that he performed visual tasks. By doing this, you will also be trusted more by those innocent people, and by other members. Also, they will be less likely to get kicked so your team will have more chance to win.
b. Hangout with them.
When you do tasks with them by your side, you won’t be afraid of being killed.
c. Pay attention to the one who accuses your innocent friend.
The one who accuses your friend for killing or venting is most likely the Impostor. You can let everyone know your thought so your crewmates will notice him or vote him as a killer.
3. Complete your tasks
This may sound obvious, but it’s easy Khủng get swept up in the sum vip
và forget that you have objectives lớn work on. There are a mixture of long và short tasks, depending on the settings your game host has opted for. Thankfully these assignments are as simple as punching in numbers on a keypad, or dragging some leaves into a vacuum. Remain alert when observing suspicious activity, but try mập keep your eyes on the prize béo put pressure on the Imposters .
4. Don’t ignore sabotage events
If an Imposter is sabotaging the station, you may have Khủng rush Khủng a specific room béo fix the malfunctioning equipment. If the entire đội ignores the O2 & Reactor events the Imposters can snag an easy thắng. So, follow the arrows that appear on your bản đồ promptly in these situations, & work with the rest of the crew Khủng clear them quickly. Other sabotages include closing doors và turning off the lights. It’s possible lớn fix the lights, but there’s little that Crewmates can vì about the doors until they open again, apart from hoping they’re not stuck in a room with an Imposter .
5. Don’t delay, call an emergency meeting
It’s possible to call an Emergency Meeting in Among Us if you believe you’ve uncovered valuable information regarding the Imposters. Every map has an Emergency button, and the number of Emergency Meetings per game can be tweaked by the host. Remember that you can use this button as part of your Among Us strategy for narrowing down who the Imposter could be. The button location varies per map: On The Skeld and MIRA HQ it’s in the Cafeteria, whereas on Polus it’s in the Office.
It takes a few seconds for the animation to finish after you interact with the Emergency button, so if an Imposter is lurking closeby, you could get caught off-guard. Sabotages involving O2, Reactor, Communications, and Lights all disable Crewmates’ abilities to interact with the Emergency button, and there’s also a cooldown following each Emergency Meeting.
6. Remember the tasks you’ve done
Once a body is discovered, everyone is going to look for the barest hint that someone is lying. So when people ask you where you were and who you were with, be ready to answer quickly, especially if no one was around to corroborate when the discussion begins.
In our Among Us games, when someone is suspicious, saying which room you were in isn’t enough. People will ask which tasks you did specifically. So rather than say, “I was in Electrical,” it’s better to be able to say “I was in Electrical doing wires” or “I was in Storage doing trash.” That’ll help keep false suspicion off your shoulders.
7. Stick with the crew
If an imposter decides béo kill you, there isn’t anything you can vì bự stop them. What you can bởi is try bự make sure they’ll be caught in the act. Depending on the bản đồ, you’ll want Khủng start out completing tasks in the most public areas where there’s lots of foot lượng truy cập, so sánh you’re less likely lớn get picked off. Then, as the game progresses, you’ll hopefully get a better sense of which players are innocent, và you can use them as a shield while you complete longer tasks in more remote areas .
8. Look out for “sus” behavior
When watching your friends in Among Us, it can be difficult to determine if their behavior is innocuous or evil: Is your friend following you because they’re doing the buddy system, or because they suspect you, or because they want to kill you? Did they run away from the group to perform a sabotage in private, or because they have one last task to complete? Being creepy in Among Us is kind of unavoidable.
Some behavior is difficult to explain away, however. If a player is standing still, away from any task, right before a sabotage event, that’s pretty suspicious. If a crewmate runs into a wall for a few seconds, they may be trying to sabotage while on the move to avoid suspicion. If someone runs behind you only to break off when a third player appears, they clearly were hoping to kill you before realizing there was a witness.
See anything like this, and it may be time to call an emergency meeting.
9. Don’t ghost-watch until you finish tasks
Once you die, it’ll be tempting lớn follow your murderer around & enjoy the show. But bởi vì your living teammates a favor & finish off your tasks first. Among Us games are ruined when the living players fix everything against all odds, only béo not chiến hạ & get killed off because their ghost partners didn’t bother phệ finish their tasks out of spite or boredom .
10. When in doubt, skip the vote
Too many Crewmates vote for whatever colour is mentioned first. If there is some serious evidence against that person, go ahead & vote him off. But if it is based on speculation, don’t take the risk. This is especially true in the beginning of the game, as evidence is often scarce và there is still plenty of phút giây Khủng catch the Imposter. Do pay attention béo whoever seems phệ be casting their suspicions so sánh early though, they may want mập sow the seeds of mistrust .
11. Keep a close eye on players completing tasks
Whenever you see a player in a task spot, bởi vì not assume they are safe và friendly. If they are truly completing the task, the task bar should fill up. Also, they need thời gian béo complete a task, especially if it’s a long one. See someone ‘ start ‘ the Reactor in just a second ? Imposter !
12. Use the emergency meetings for strategizing
Emergency Meetings are primarily used mập find out who the killer is. But why not use them mập strategize with your nhóm as well ? You can use the opportunity mập suggest staying in a nhóm, or lớn ask people béo watch you doing a visual task. Too often an emergency meeting becomes a screaming match of accusations as Crewmate & Imposter alike plead their innocence .
13. Common tasks
If you get a common task such as ‘ Insert Keys ‘ on Polus or ‘ Swipe Card ‘ on Polus & Skeld, everyone else has it too. That also means that if you don’t have a common task, nobody else has it. In other words, it is useful mập know where the locations of common tasks are. Do you see someone ‘ completing ‘ a common task that you don’t have ? Another Imposter !
14. Don’t waste your visual tasks
Only Crewmates can bởi tasks, which is why visual tasks are very valuable. If you see someone complete a visual task such as the scan in the MedBay or Laboratory, you can be 100 % certain that they are in the clear. In other words, if you bởi visual tasks without other players present, you’re basically diminishing your chances of winning. Some players even Điện thoại tư vấn the presence of visual tasks ‘ overpowered ‘, so sánh don’t throw them away. If you save them, you can even use them mập prove your innocence after an emergency meeting .
15. Don’t spam
You shouldn’t be afraid to speak, but there is no need to ask the same question over and over again. Sometimes, Among Us chats look (or sound) like this:
“Who?”
“Where?”
“Where was the body?”
“Red sus”
“Where?”
“Who should I vote for?”You can’t control your teammates, but at least you can refrain from joining in. Try to break the cycle by stating some useful observations and if you get crowded out.
16. Is the kill fresh?
Players should note that if the body toàn thân is still standing, the kill was fresh. After a few seconds, the body toàn thân will travel bự the floor. If a player finds a body toàn thân và notices someone running away while it is still standing upright, there is a good chance that someone is the Impostor .
17. Don’t forget about the vents!
All too often, Crewmembers seem lớn forget that Imposters can use vents. Beware of phrases lượt thích ” Blue didn’t bởi vì it, because I saw him in that room “. If you are really serious about winning the game, you should learn how the vents are connected. You will gain the power Khủng destroy many alibis .
18. Check rooms
While running towards your task, kiểm tra the rooms you pass for chết bodies. If all Crewmates are completely focused on doing tasks, it might take a while before a body toàn thân is discovered. Not only bởi you give the Imposter plenty of phút giây Khủng kill again, but all evidence will have vanished .
19. Check the door log
This feature on the Mira HQ bản đồ keeps a record of every player that has passed a sensor. There are three sensors placed on the bản đồ. This log can help you find out who was where at the giây phút of a murder, và who has been lying. Note that the Door Log only shows the trăng tròn most recent events. This can be handy for catching out venting Imposters as they might trigger two sensors at opposite ends of the bản đồ .
20. Use the cameras
Much like the Door Log, the cameras on Skeld and Polus give you information on everyone’s whereabouts. You can even catch a killer red-handed. More experienced Imposters will notice the blinking light on the cameras when you are watching them. However, you can use that too. Walk away from the camera, then go back. With any luck, the Imposter thought you had left and is now revealing themselves to be a killer.
Live by these rules and you will be the greatest detective in the game! Want a little bonus tip? Do not say “light green” and “light blue”; it’s “lime” and “cyan” for insiders. Better still, with Among Us 2 now cancelled, there’s no need to relearn the game for the sequel. Many of these skills will also translate to games like Among Us, so we really have provided an exceptional service here.
