We ’ re going to be trying an extra format to the posts, indeed while we silent have our “ Explained ” series, we ’ ll going to do a series called “ Let ’ s lecture About ” that goes into a identical specific thing, like a single spell, detail, character, or animal. Enervation Mechanics
This spell comes from a book that came out a small later in DnD 5e ’ sulfur life, called “ Xanathar ’ s Guide To Everything ”. This reserve contained a whole host of additions to the bet on, including spells.
One of these spells is the Necromancy go known as enervation .
This spell allows a creature to target another animal, force them to make a Dex Saving Throw, and if they fail the aim takes 4d8 necrotic damage. Each subsequent sour after a fail spare allows the caster to use their legal action to automatically deal 4d8 damage to the target again. This lasts until the spell ends. On top of the Necrotic Damage, the caster besides heals for half the total of damage .
Enervation Flavour
If a caster was to use this spell on another creature, what would it look like ? As you may have noticed from former posts, I like to try and show how I would describe the go when it showed up in my plot. I find describing the little details of things like that can actually add spirit to your game, without actually much attempt at all.

The warlock raises his pass and gestures the symbols in the air. Before anyone has any time to react, 3 long spikes of pure dark reach out at incredible speeds from the warlocks sleeve.
