Very concerning ! Can’t say I’m a big người yêu thích given this starts with Big Sky Filming Locations
guy going ” yeah my wife doesn’t want me phệ play poker for a living, but I’m doing it anyways ” & then không bao giờ interrogating himself & the harm he poses bự his family as a result. Can’t say I’m totally against it since it captures so sánh many moments of intense vulnerability, but it không bao giờ really reckons with them meaningfully, so sánh can’t say I lượt thích it at all either. -

Love bự watch the ti vi & scream ” get a job you fucker ” while a dude discusses how hard his wife is having it while he tries lớn become a professional poker player instead of actually supporting his family .Shout out bự the amazingly awkward Daniel Negreanu interview where they stand in his backyard lượt thích Negreanu won’t let him in his house.

Matt Gallagher is a decent documentarian : The self-labeled degenerate Andre, the struggling club owner Lawrence, và the ” recovered ” gambling addict Danny all present engaging stories of how lives are transfixed và made & ruined by gambling. Gallagher’s own ” story ” that he carelessly interjects, on the other hand, is revolting. What is truly bad about this documentary is not the ridiculous obliviousness of its subjects, but is instead Gallagher’s gaudy vision for the documentary as proof of gambling reliance as some kind of noble, skill-based pursuit within a glorifiable underworld that becomes grossly obvious in the inclusion of his own experiences.

An unbelievable display in self-unawareness. They are on the cusp of self-understanding, nhảy around it feverishly without ever crossing kết thúc. Also thrown in are the most hilariously stupid club owner trying bự take legal recourse for an illegal gambling hall that he is months late on rent, và a miscarriage through-line that is entirely unrelated except for the fact that the odds are bad, just lượt thích for every loser in this movie. This movie, meant lớn make grinding poker look lượt thích a cool và smart thing mập bởi vì, makes everyone in this movie look lượt thích the biggest fucking loser you could imagine. * ugly sweaty guy with no job, who lives with his parents * “ People see my life, big house & two beautiful dogs, và are jealous ”

This movie is worth watching for two scenes : ( một ) The Cookie Monster t-shirt guy’s dad wearing sunglasses at the dinner table, & ( 2 ) The strip mall lawyer guy who turns mập the camera và smiles lượt thích Jim from The Office because he flat out can’t believe they’re filming these ridiculously boring people from Scarborough.

not a horror movie but very interesting documentary, i feel lượt thích the filmmaker is certainly being irresponsible và it seems lượt thích he may be masking a gambling addiction by making a movie out of it. andre “ grinding ” is one thing, he’s young, unmarried, not engaged, no children. he has nobody relying on him Khủng survive, that’s where matt gallagher is different. he’s putting his wife & child’s livelihood on the line. kind of a bummer. it seems lượt thích nobody in this world is happy except for the biggest top dogs, lượt thích daniel negreanu who is absolutely the man. he seems Khủng be livin the life, & i didn’t know that he came from “ grinding ” but it definitely makes sense .everybody is miserable, but everybody can’t stop gambling. maybe it is horror movie after all.

Keep grindig it up! -

Interesting dive into the lives of gamblers who try béo make poker into a full-time job. It’s nice having a poker documentary that doesn’t try bự cram curbing a gambling addiction lao dốc your throat ( the director is one of the people scraping by with poker ) while obviously showing how much worse it is than a đầy đủ giây phút job ( even when you’re in the top một % of gamblers you get few hours of sleep constantly looking for poker tables & sometimes youu come trang chủ with $ 300 + lost ) .The biggest downside is I doubt it was completely honest showing the fuckups of those they were interviewing. The only people the director confided with on how well the gamblers were doing were the gamblers themselves ( only exception is a hesitant but supportive father ), which is shitty for showing an accurate depiction of the life for obvious reasons.
