Rick and Morty (Or know as Rick and Morty: The Movie) is an 2022 Live-Action-Sci-Fi Comedy-Dramatic adult film directed by Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland. The film is based on the show of the same name. The film was shot for the movie Warner Bros. Pictures and Adult Swim. Starring Christopher Lloyd, Tom Holland, Sarah Chalke, Chris Parnell and Emma Stone.

Synopsis

Rick and Morty must solve the long-standing mystery of the đen hole and what is in it. Having reached it, the đen hole sucks in our heroes, but they turn out phệ be alive inside the Black hole. Now they must find out the secret and stop the main villain. The adventure begins !

Cast

• Christopher Lloyd as Rick Sanchez – one of the two main characters, a genius and middle-aged scientist, an alcoholic with constant belching. Skeptic, extremely cynical, grumpy, selfish, but not devoid of a sense of humor.
• Tom Holland as Morty Smith – the second main character, Rick’s grandson, a boy of 14 years old (at the time of season 3, 15 years old), an ordinary teenager. When traveling with his grandfather, he often simply does not understand what is happening, but from time to time he shows wit.
• Sarah Chalke as Beth Smith – daughter Rick, mother Morty and Summer, and wife Jerry, 34 years old. He works as a cardiac surgeon-veterinarian – mostly equine. Summer gave birth at the age of 17, from which, according to Summer herself, “constantly makes a problem.”
• Chris Parnell as Jerry Smith – Father Morty and Summer, son-in-law of Rick, husband of Beth, 34-35 years old. Like Morty, he is naive and stupid, very complex because of this. Tricks his wife about not being a real surgeon. Loves the movie “Titanic” very much. Unemployed, about which he is periodically reminded by all family members with the phrase “find a job.”
• Emma Stone as Summer Smith – older sister Morty, 17. A typical teenager with a corresponding range of interests. Sometimes he travels with his grandfather and younger brother and often helps them out.
• Ryan Drummond as Lord of the Black Hole – A black hole lord who wants to destroy Rick and Morty in the film. Quite spiteful and very cold-blooded. He loves to destroy parallel universes and destroyed many clones of Rick and Morty. It is later revealed that some of his pawns are Evil Rick and Evil Morty.

Production

Writing

Writing for the film began in the summer of 2021 when the film was announced at Comic-Con in Canada. Trivia

• This film was originally supposed to be animated, like the original show.
• Initially, Morty was supposed to be played by Sean Ryan Fox, but he was not suitable for the role and they decided to replace him with Tom Holland.
• Due to the fact that the script was rewritten, the film could be postponed to 2023-2024.
